“You can’t leave, Gale!” I yell at him “There’s a lot of people who want to go and… and fight them. You’re just eighteen! What would Hazelle think about this?”
“Who would seriously want to go there? To leave his country? Nobody!” He emphasizes the last word by hitting the table next to him. He pushes his hair back and sighs. “I’ve to do something.”
I cross my arms against my chest and avoid his grey eyes “And what about your siblings? What about… what bout me?”
He swallows and rubs his hands.
There’s a small silence that makes me even more nervous that I really am.
“I am leaving tomorrow” Gale says. He walks to the door and leaves the room.
Deeper in my heart, I can feel a hole. An empty hole in my chest. It’s painful. It’s deep.
I just… I can’t let him go. I can’t lose him. He’s my best friend and I barely talk to other people. He’s the only one who knows my secrets… The only one who I really trust, without counting my sister.
A lot of people is dying there. Most of them are his age.
I can’t let him go, but I couldn’t change his mind. He’s so focused on revenge our fathers’ deaths. He’s blind, somehow.
I am so angry with my self that, when I get out of the room, I hit the door.
